The CLT Project

The CLT Project is a mixed-use building which consists of 1 commercial floor, 7 residential floors and 2 underground parking level. The construction consists of 7 levels of CLT Panel Structure which will be supported by three levels of concrete structure (ground floor and basement levels). The whole project has been created with the idea of not keeping traditional shapes for the rooms but still providing a comfortable space and area for people to use.

The ground floor has been designed to be as open as possible to be able to interact with the street and with the building's surroundings namely Box Hill's Green Space. Regarding the apartment floors, their floor plans layouts have been created with a simple circle shape as the center core part of the building.

The project was completed using AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop and Lumion.

Ground Floor Plan

The ground floor has been designed to be as welcoming as possible with its large open spaces and enough outdoor seating spaces to cater for passersby and specially for Box Hill Institute students. the big steps on the southern side of the site are a way to interact with Box Hill Green Space. The ground floor also offers a wide variety of affordable food premises which tend to attract more people along with a more formal restaurant on the northern side of the site.

I also added a music store and a second-hand bookstore which can be accessible to anyone. The bookstore is a way to contribute to the community by providing an affordable means of educating people. The music store will provide a friendly atmosphere by animating the outdoor space with some music.
