The CLT Project - Planning Report

A building company has purchased three sites with the intention of constructing an eight-storey cross laminated timber sustainable mixed-use (predominantly residential) building.

The sites are in a residential area surrounded by health and educational buildings in Box Hill and might be used as student accommodations as well as normal apartments. An essential part of the design exercise is to design a sustainable CLT building which adheres to the planning requirements of the Whitehorse City Council while maximizing the number of apartments to increase profitability. Therefore, efficient design

will increase viability of the project.

The design for this development will consist of a basement level for carparking, a retail ground floor area with 7 levels of apartments on top of it.
